He has served in all club offices except Treasurer. He was president twice. Lion ron has attended numerous District & Multi District Conferences.

He was Zone Chair in 1981-82 and is a certified guiding Lion.

Lion Ron is a "Melvin Jones Fellow". He holds Life Membership in: The Lions Foundation of Canada, and the Eye Bank of Saskatchewan.

In 1998 he was awarded a President's "Certificate of Appreciations". He has Multiple District Cabinet Certificates and also Multiple Provincial CNIB appreciations Awards.

His personal life:

U of S Agricultural Graduate in 1954.

Grain farmed until 1969 at Cantuar Sask.

Was in the following trades:

3 years in the Jewellery business

17 Years in the "Toys for Boys WAS IN THE FOLLOWING TRADES: (Boats, Trailers, Snowmobilies, Motorcycles, etc.)

5 years selling "Green" Lawn and Garden equipment and finally 6 years as owner/manager of a Bingo operation in Swift Current.

About his business life Lion Ron says: Never had any money, but had the best jobs and life anyone would want.

Lion Ron and his wife Susanna, have 5 children by previous marriages and 2 grandchildren.

Lion Ron enjoys junior hockey, local baseball and "puttering". Lion Ron is a firm believer that "Rocking the Boat" is not all bad. This even applies to the Lions organization.
