State of South Dakota

Welcome from the Governor's in Multiple District 5 from the State of South Dakota. South Dakota consists of 92 Lions Clubs with 2851 members. 4 Leo Clubs and 4 Lioness Club.

District Governor 5SE
District Governor Cindy Iverson

I was born in Lawton, Ok where my Dad was serving in the US Army. That makes me a Army brat, which some still think I am!!!! I have lived in many different places including Germany, where my two younger sisters were born. In the 7th grade we moved to Rapid City, SD and where I graduated from Rapid City Stevens. I have attended Black Hills State and also Lake Area Vo-Tech. I am married to Jim who has worked for East River Electric for 33 years.

We have 2 daughters, 1 son, 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson. I have worked for Edward Jones Investments for almost 10 years. I am a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and also serve on the Madison City Planning Commission.

I have been an evolving Lion for more then 20 years. I can't remember Lions not being part of my family's life. Before the era of cell phones my sisters and I always knew if our parents where nowhere to be found they were at some Lions function!!!!

My Lions career started in 1998 when I was inducted in Milbank, SD by my Dad who was the District Governor. I have held many positions and all club offices except treasurer. In 2000 we moved from Milbank to Madison where I transferred to the Madison Club. In 2003 I attended Senior Leadership training in Portland, OR. I have been Leader Dog Chair, Zone & Region Chair, served on the SD Lions Foundation and SightFirstII group leader.

When not busy with Lions I like to golf, bowl (have attended more then 10 National Bowling Tournaments). I collect both Campbell Soup and Coke memorabilia, I like to travel, (have been to Denmark twice), play pinochle and attend antique auctions and of course being a Grandma!!!!!
