PDG Tim Thueson,
an educator originally from Sheyenne, North Dakota, received his
Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Mayville State University
in 1978. PDG Thueson received his Master of Science Degree in Education
from Minot State University in 1991. PDG Tim joined the McClusky Lions
Club in 1979 and transferred his membership to the North Star Lions
Club in 1998. PDG Tim is the current MD 5 LOFY Chairman and has held
many offices within the association including Club President,
Secretary/treasurer, Board of Directors, Membership Chairman, Public
Relations Chairman, Program Chairman, Zone Chairman, Vice-District
Governor, District Governor, District 5 NC LCIF Chariman, and District
5 NC Pin Chairman. In addition, he has served on the North Dakota Lions
Eye Bank as a director and President, Lions Foundation of North Dakota
Board of Directors, President of the North Dakota Past District
Governors Association, North Dakota Representative to MD 5 Council of
Governors, MD 5 Council of Governors' Constitution and By-Laws Chairman
and the MD 5 Council of Governors' Financial Committee Chairman. In
recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous
awards including the 100% District Governor Award, 100% Club Secretary,
Lion of the Year, two International Presidents Certificates of
Appreciation, 100% Leader Dog District Governor, twenty-four 100%
Perfect Attendance Awards, Membership Key Award, Club Membership
Director Award, Legacy of Lions Award, Bronze Membership Growth Award,
Bronze Membership Certificate, District Governor's Certificate of
Appreciation, and Certificate of Appreciation from the North Dakota
Lions Eye Bank. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow. In addition to his
Lion activities, PDG Tim is a member of the North Dakota Education
Association, National Education Association, North Dakota Speech and
Theater Association, Life member of NEA Retired Teachers, Life Member
of the North Dakota Firefighters Association, Past President of the
Central North Dakota Firefighters Association, and has been listed
three times in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers". PDG Tim and his
wife, Lion Lynell, have one son, Mark, who is a student at UND in Grand
Forks.
